Mk5 body on a mk6

Does anybody know if a mk5 body will fit a mk6 chassis? Thanks

I think you will find that neither mk 5 or 6 has an independent chassis (barring plasma cutter skills).

Been offered a mk6 chassis cab cheap, would my mk5 Luton body not fit or a flat bed off a mk5?

Interesting concept. You take the Mk6 with its quicker more efficient engine that bankrupts you when it goes wrong, and fit the Mk5 body that rusts while you watch.

One way to look at it, thinking more of a LEZ compliant flareside .

erm.... do you want to put the box off the back of your Mk5 luton onto the back of a Mk6 flat bed ?



in which case.... yeah no problems... as long as it's the right length....


if it's the wrong length you can just adjust it to fit (shorten/lengthen bed) as long as it's not by too much

max rear overhang is 1/3 of wheel base

so if your wheels are 3m apart, then max overhang would be 1m

Ok thanks , so a long as I'm looking at same wheel base (ie swab,mwb or lwb) then the mk5 nd mk6 either Luton body, pick -up rear are inter changeable ? And weather it single or twin rear wheels.. Thanks

you're just mounting your luton box onto the chassis rails...

even if they don;t match up 100%.... it's a piece of cake to make it fit



the chassis of the van will have a couple of bits of box section running along the top of it

so that's 2 long rails running front to back

across the top of those there'll be more steel running side to side to take the weight of the box/load...

so even if the vans are a bit different.... it's easy to make it fit
