Not transit, but still ford ;)

Postby darkbluevanman » Fri May 25, 2012 7:08 pm

been doing bits on the old mk2 granny, gone with a port on the head torquey cam and a DGAS carb, was running with std filter on, but had a pipercross foam jobby which I bought cheap, performance wise there's little difference over the std filter, but the induction noise can be a bit chavvy..... so I made a custom airbox to dampen the induction noise..... it's still got a roar, but it's less prominant in the car :)

Oh, the pipercross foam filter is sat inside, hence the tallness of the box, just clears the bonnet of the granny, would taper it a bit if I make another, the 2 rubber trumpets are off an old bike airbox I had :)

I beg to differ!.... the only thing the 2.3 is good at beating both the pinto and the 2.8 is fuel consumption.... IT'S DIRE!
2.8's overrated too power wise, just sound better, pinto easier to tune and lighter :)... love a v6 auto though :)

yeh the mpg isnt that great  ....but then again...who buys a classic because of fuel consumption

the 2.3 and 2.8 are becomming a little harder to get hold of due to a cirtain type of contact racing of which the granada is king

Let a pre facelift mk2 2.3 manual which was lowish miles and solid go about 6 years ago for a couple of hundred quid... no room here!
