facia vibration

Postby halla » Tue Jul 31, 2012 6:44 am

I got sick of the vibration running through the facia in front of the mph/rev clocks. Also losing fags down the back The answer was staring me in the face!

You'll need a donor van for this(scrap yard).
On the inside of the window screen runs a nice piece of rubber strip, pull this off, easy. This is the best thing for vibration dampening ever.

Take your steering wheel off (22mm socket) Take the stalks out. Remove facia around clocks (4 screws) and stick a section of this strip all the way round. No glue required. I made the join at the top, nice.
Refit as normal and you have a sealed vibration free clock facia. You can also use this on the heater panel in front of the gear stick.

I'm look for other applications, maybe the door cards, or top of sliding door!
It seems to work perfectly,

Ian
