Strrretch!

Once upon a time, in 1979, a man took an angle grinder to a late MK2 LWB panel van. Doing the same to another one, he found that if he stuck the 'slice' in middle, he could stretch it by 3 feet! All this in a bus stop in North London!! Garnished with a 351 Cleveland and auto box, it started to get interesting.
Currently residing at our mechanic's, she's a work in progress as the seams ar going and she needs a rewire. One day.............

You bet!! She will look worse before she looks better though as the aformentioned stretch job was a bit amatuerish. Our body many has been on a sharp intake of breath now for 7 months...... I may have to slap him to make him breathe out before he turns blue.

In the subject of pics, I have some to put in a possible section of 'horror stories', our 73 was bought accident damaged. The previous owner fell asleep at the wheel in 1974 listening to Dark Side of The Moon on his 8-track, and woke up hitting a tipper truck. She only had 5,695 miles on her at the time, so one side is showroom, and the other side is painful to look at. We really need to get her back on the road. I may put out a call for help with this, as out body man's business partner left the business and now he's on his own, he can't take on such a big job.

Nice ! I bet that it was the same guy that did the other one though! Stretching vans is'nt as easy as it first appears ,you have to take into account lots of different dimensions ! I know ,I did it to a Toyota Hiace I built many yrs ago , then 6 wheeled it .

That's what I like about our van though, only two axles makes it subtle.

Still plodding on. The body man had to open up the seams to take of the rust. A few weeks ago she turned round do he could get to the other side. It doesn't help that muppets keep running into thngs and getting in the que in front of her! It's been a very funny year.........

any news on this one fred????? :? :? :D
You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.
