 You'll prob need an etch primer for the roof, and the best paint would be a 2 pack goes on lovely but you need an air feed mask as its a bit dodgy if you not in well ventilated area you might wake up dead  if you breath to much fumes. I get all my paint from Autopaint Intenational up here the lads in there are brill  ask em anything they'll help no probs dont know if you have that company down your way

I thought etching primer was for ally, I am sure there is a special one for fibreglass.

As the fibreglass already has a finsh it should take the same paint as the rest of the van.

Good point, I was thinking of it as bare fibreglass.

thanks mate have got a respray lined up for late this month early next year the only problem is he is going to have to let the air out the tyres because the van is about an inch too high for the oven  anyway he assures me that 2 pack should look alright but over a long time it can go crackly/flakey but will have probably sold the van by then :)

letting air out of tyres is ok but remember obvoiusly to re inflate them. if preparation is ok on existing paint, then 2 pack should be fine and last for years without reacting/ flaking. if you are only selling it on, why not use synthetic as this is easy applied, cheaper and shines like a new pin. also it needs no flatting/mopping. a painstaking job in itself!
