front bumpers

Postby whitevanman66 » Sun Mar 15, 2009 6:41 pm

ive seen some nice bumpers for a bmw E46 and a mercedes sprinter ..the question is does anyone know if either of these bumpers are close in width to the mk5 so i have minimal amount of adapting/adjustment

you could try to contact the manufacturer - i think it's the guy in the ebay ad
If you would like to create your own BODY KIT or if you want to buy other styling parts than please check our other auctions. You will find side skirts, spoilers and bumpers for many different makes and models. Please remember! All our products are made out of GRP (Glass fibre Reinforced Plastic) - known for its excellent strength and flexibility.
if he could make one for the transit in that style then i think it would be a great seller 8) he could make a fortune
offer your van as a test bed

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-E39-5-SERIES- ... m153.l1262 this may work if i cut in centre and make wider as the distance from corner to wheel arch is neare the size i need as opposed to the E46 one ...

having been to a bmw dealership (in my tranny) ive measured various beemers bumpers ..the E46 ,where the bumper curves round the corners ,its not long enough to reach the wheel arch and would have to be cut in middle & made wider by about 6" (i think!!)..the 5 series E39 will reach wheel arch but again need cutting and extending by about 4" or 5"...however the mercedes vito & sprinter may need an extra 2" on the width but will reach or slightly sail past the wheel arch but would be easy to trim back instead of add on ...these are not 100% accurate measurements but somewhere near as a guideline if someone fancies the challenge...
