Fitting HID's???

Hey peeps!!

Im gonna get some HID's for my van, is there anything I need to do or get before I can fit them??
The reason im asking is because my mate has a Corsa 'C' and he has projector headlights which apparantley you need to fit them? He also said his mate has a Fiesta, dont know how old, and he cant fit them to his for that reason!!!!

Personally, I would fit a 2nd battery. The HID ballasts use up quite a lot of power.

Once running HID's use less power than a standard bulb, an extra battery isn't necessary. The current they draw at start up won't trouble a battery in good condition.

The other question was what voltage (or wattage) is best?? 3000, 5000, 8000 or 10000??? I was looking at the 5000, but my mate put 8000 on his Corsa, and they do look good, so wot do you reacon??

Do you want to pose or see where you're going? The higher the number (it's not the voltage it's the light colour measured in kelvin) the bluer the light gets. 5k or 6k gives the most light output, 8k and 10k will have less output and be almost purple in colour

As long as it could start the van I'm sure it could cope with the lights

to be truthful it was my bro that fitted them when a was at work As far as im aware it was a straight forward job .

In my opinion yes they are truely better! There as bright as H7's to be honest
