If you could choose any colour for your transit....

Postby v8rick » Fri Aug 06, 2010 9:11 pm

what would it be??

Basicaly i am bored of the 'white van' thing.... and have the usual slight rust spots coming through on the sills...

so before it gets too bad, i am going to respray my van. The question is, what colour??

We have just got in a new colour at work, and it is almost Kawasaki green in 2 pack.... the machine we have just painted is this colour with black everything else (tracks, radiator grill, pipes etc) and i like it.... but dont know if it is too much for a transit??

Suggestions please on the colour you would pick. :)

Thank you.

i would go for yellow or orange only because you cant see the rust when it haunts a transit

I'd go for satin black or red.

Candy Apple Red semi clear coat over a silver metallic basecoat over white primer and 20 add clear coats! Don't ever scratch it though as it'll be a bA@stard to repair :D Apparently you'll be more sexually appealing to women dressed in a red van too! - It must be true as I read it on the yahoo news.. :D ..unfortunately you might be more appealing to men also as they were saying! Darker light absorbing metallics are all cool I reckon! Blues, violets, maroons, reds etc. but not so dark that you see how dimpled the factory bodywork is! What about that satin Beige colour they covered old vauxhalls in, in the late '70's?

what about lashings of chrome to complement the lustfull sploshings... or on this forum is it conciderd a fo-par

( i was told ford used thin paint to aid the oxidising process to help hide the wobbly panels!)

I reckon green would like like you fell off the back of the convoy, especially if you have a mongrel on a bit of string!

If i ever have a few bob spare my amby will be MATT BLACK.

Think of all that anti-rust heat absorption to dry out the panels?

Mark.

Panels would buckle if you parked it down at the beach! And a matt paint has more area to 'hold' the surface tension of water. I reckon it would rust more! Also someone might mistake it for a chalk board
