Extra lights - driving or fog?

I had a look online and it seems that driving lights must switch on and off with your main beam, and fogs are wired seperately but must not be used if visibility is good. Also, they tend to have different beam patterns.
So - my point is - (getting there...slowly) as I intend to fit extra lights in the lower part of my new bumper/spoiler when it is done (as per the Fibre Sports stylee), would fogs or driving lights be the most useful?

You might want to check on the location requirements of the lighting, you may find that in that location they will be classed as fog lights.

From what I could see, driving can be anywhere facing forward, and fog max height 1200mm. Unless anyone knows better.
What is on a new Transit - fogs aren't they?
Guess I'll go with driving as that is the general vibe.

Why not fit both?
Some fog lights down the bottom and a couple of driving lights in front of the grill

Driving lights that low are a waste of time. My old 205Gti had factory driving lights in the front spoiler and they were next to useless.

I think you will find, spot lights have to be the same height or higher than the headlights but MUST go off with main beam. Fogs can be lower but can ONLY be used in fog & falling snow (visibility less than 100 metres).
My set up is...................2 Ford fogs , 2 100 w Super Oscars.Sorry about the gates

IF you're going for a fibresports style bumper you could probably fit 2 in each cut out stacked on top of each other. One set as fogs the other set as driving lights

I have fog on my van between the main lights on the a bar and they only show what in front as the wired in to my main beam driving lights are the way to go I'm going to get some for the roof next

So your's aren't legal then.

No I'll hold my hands up to that one but when i dip my lights the fogs go off on high beam there on

Yes but only on my high beam there not when there dipped
