also, this is interesting, must say i thought the same myself. i know this is one of the reasons you gave for re-drilling the hubs, arch clearance being the other, but that aside, if you get the right width wheel with the right offset its going to cancel out the affect of the adapter as stated below...

The suspension loads are only affected by the centerline of the tire. Billet adapters usually correct offset issues when bolting newer style high offset wheels onto older cars that were designed with low offset wheels. A wheel with a 51mm offset and a 2" adapter is identical to the suspension as a 0mm factory wheel. This loads are the same on the wheel studs, bearings, bushings, because the wheel is in exactly the same location on the car.

i'm pritty confident next year they will all be done :lol:

i'm also looking into a price for a run of rear adapters - i definatly need a set for myself so if anyone else is interested - i'll post details when i get a price :D

yes i know but if you look at the ET on standard mk3/4/5 wheels its pritty close to most fwd cars summat like +45 the wheels i fitted were mercedes rwd and granada rwd - the offset was lower than the transit without the adapters :D

nothing really wrong with adapters choice is yours :D
