yeah but you might be able to buy the discs calipers etc. and fith them to a mk6 axle

i blagged a trw/girling cd rom from a local factor and i can put in the offset for the disc and it will give me a choice of discs i have put in 70mm slightly further in than lukes vito and 740 volvo vents pop up but i am not sure from his thread how much room there is to play with but the cd saves a lot of calls and dirty hands ...... any input will be appreciated ws

i think if i could have picked perfect disks the vito ones would have been mabe 10mm less - but then again if you arent using sierra calipers the offset will be different

if i didnt have the problem of making the axle as narrow as possable (which you dont as your wheels arnt as wide as mine) i would have made the brackets slightly thicker set the calipers out further and just made the disks sit in the right place by fitting a packing shim behind them

That CD sounds handy any chance of a copy

cant help with cd but http://www.brakeworld.co.uk has an online catalog that lists disk depths etc!

i got the disc from local lsuk not sure if the manager should of given it to me i've got to load it on the hard drive then i can e mail the file its 350mb so a copy to disc may be better it has helped in matching calipers as well if its right late scorpio ran 22mm vented discs so calipers are similar to cosworth but cheaper i will have to strip my axle to determine the maximum depth to set the caliper bracket but i guess as far in as possible without fouling the rear leaf spring

i ve been down the yard today and popped of the rear hub off a similar swb van and have measured the distance from the mating face of the axle casing to the face of the flange as 80mm, the disc i found is a front ventilated disc 22 mm thick 68mm deep face 2 face and 263 diameter using late scorpio calipers (yet to aquire ) will i have enough room for the brackets, i would get ones made similar to yours luke any thoughts

4wd cosworths use vented rears but i dunno if scorpios do...

checking brakeworld te scorpio rears are 20mm fronts are 24mm

cosworth rears are also 20mm

i getting dizzy 2 many no's the rear calipers off 94/99 scorpio use 20mm vented disc as you said the disc i found given i gone for 5x 108 ford wheels means the volvo discs have the same pcd i could have the disc skimmed or pad modded not sure their was 2 other options one with 72mm depth 287 dia i think these are rears the ones with internal b/shoes and 295 dia solid off rear of 740 and use standard granada rear calipers plenty about

just e mailed caprisport see if any of their brackets will work you never know i understand that 1600 transit ran the famous atlas axle read this in one of the ford mags recently, could be another option haven't seen one since the mk2 was a daily driver back in the day
