update- well its all fitted and the vans back a rolling & steering shell :D

i think i took too much off the springs :( 6" clearance on the front spoiler
my mate looked at it and said it was spot on but im not 100% sure in hindsight i'd have left a ¼ coil more on the spring

i should get some pics up soon, only problem now is i cant fit my front alloys on so i need to sort the hubs some how, but i'll look at that during the week :? i really dont want arches on :!: but i may have to roll the existing ones to get clearance :!:

been looking at the clearance problem today and i think the only option is have some hubs made  also im gonna have to swap to a different disk too, i think, one thats front mounted with a very small offset! ive been looking through the catalogues and mercedes seems a good one to go for, but the closest ive got the o/d to is 275mm and if i upgrade to lwb calipers it will be 270mm :? i could allways machine a skim off the disk but i like to keep replaceble parts standard :D also the disk thickness is 22mm and the transit is 24mm same catalogue :?

not really see above :(

but seriously......... i could mabe take a skim off the wheel and alter the existing hub slightly both together may get enough clearance - mabe use the mk1 hubs as they dont stick out as far :? :D

i will get round to taking some photos, and unfortuatly i cant redrill the mk4 hubs as they stick out too far :( if i'd done it on a mk3 the mk1 hubs would have fitted by the looks of it and made it narrower - ive redrilled them and they redrill fine - mk4 is a little trickyer but i still think they would redrill especially a larger pcd say bmw or jag :D

ive got a granny cossy disk today and im gonna have a play around and see if i can somehow mount that on the transit hub and give me the clearance i need :D

mabe :? but if it wasnt for the alloys the job would be done now :D
also jag is a bit too narrow i measured one up before i started - bearing in mind ive got the alloys i want allready, but tbh i quite enjoy working round these problems keeps my mind active

mk3 wont fit mk4/5, i think mk3 will fit mk1/2 but im not 100%, the mk1/2 hub is totally flat whereas the mk3/4/5 hubs have recessed areas in making it a little more difficult to locate a stud :D

I love this conversion, and I would like to do it on our Mk1.

What years are Mk3s? I know bugger all about anything post-Mk2.

If mk 1/2/3 hubs are interchangeable, then I can just fit my Falcon hubs from the disc conversion tht is on the beam axle. It uses Transit bearings and keeps the same track as a mk1. Vented discs with 5x112 PCD too......

Gotta start looking for a Mk3 methinks.........
