I dont understand what you mean by not wide enough !!!

If you have a welder and some tube, a few bits of metal you can make anything,
from the pictures above it looks like it attaches the same way a roof rack does onto the rain gutter

Or, have a look in scrapyard find a vehicle with roof rackwhich attaches to rain gutter,
take a cross piece off and stretch to fit the width of van,
weld some brackets to mount spotlights onto...

Or do you have a totally different bar to what i am thinking of...

I wanted to put lights on the roof but I find that I can get into most car parks around Northampton that have got height restrictions but with only a few inches to spare. :(

Polishing stainless is quite hard work when on the vehicle, as you to apply a bit of pressure. I recon you'll need a couple of small polishing wheels, one for polishing the scratches out and one for finishing. Maybe 3 grades of polishing soap and a adapter to fit in a hand drill with variable speed. I cannot find the company I used to buy them from, I'll keep looking. What I found was, I would polish a scratch out and find that it was like a mirror and had to do the whole thing.
Looks damm good after 8)
