Hi Hillman,

Are the mounts/fixings all in the same place?

Which heater conrtols are you going to use and how?

In the pic it looks like the mk6 clocks fit nice, have they been modded to fit?

Ive used the mk6 clocks modded the dash to make them fit, cut a load out!!!!!
dont no about the steering wheel!! again i use my mk6
im still trying to source the gear selecter on the box, were the cables push onto as ive been told the mk7 has a longer arm to enable cable adjustment, this is were im stuck at the moment, everything else is done, apart from mk6 radio dont fit and if i get a mk7 i'll have to alter all the wiring behind the radio as ive used mk6 wiring loom which is then easier to plug everything back together.

Why don't you just use an aftermarket single din radio as the fascia adapter's fit better in the mk7 and look ok

there seems to be a problem with the depth of the 6000cd radio being to deep for the mk7 dash, if that would fit it would be easy to put it back in so not having to mess about with the wiring, the 6000cd is a double din i think??

Not to deep just the wrong shape as the mk7 6000cd has straight edges and the mk6 has curved edges

Hi all! Got the main bits of the dash fitted now just waiting to finish it off when I get the gear selector! The radio space needs a little fine tuning in the form of a nice plastic cover and the fuse boxes under the passenger side part of the dash need some plywood to prevent them being kicked and damaged but all in all its a workable van now!!

N.B In the pictures i have mounted the new gear stick but for reasons stated above I'm still rocking the old gear stick!

sorry mate, funds wont allow, not at the moment anyway!!!

its the inside that i wanted to change as i use mine as a camper and just found it a real pain in the rearend trying to get through to the back.

was thinking of swapping the van but i like it so much and it runs so well!! thanks to vantuner, so why change it, might as well spend the money on something you know is good that buy a load of s---t from somewhere.

hi all

at last ive sourced a mk7 gear selector from a firm who seem to be very up on tranny bits called
fairlight vehicles ltd 01375 677741 fairlightvehicle@btconnect.com

so its now just a case of putting the new selector on fitting the gear cables and g/change, then fitting the last part of the dash around the g/change and hey presto were done, yippeee, well until i think of my next mod!!!!

was thinking about a mk7 rear axel but my mechanic says not to bother as the disc brakes are crap and the linkage is different so i'll give it a miss.

you may see the pictures that ive posted , well my son has , it all looks the same as the last photo's he put up.

So if anyone else has a go good luck.

ive used the switch from my mk6 as the wiring is different on the mk7 so just left the new switch in situ and put the old one by its side.

yeh you could be right, i dont think so but i did it so as to be able to gain easier access from front to back, no gear stick in the way now so for me its much better, each to their own heay.
