iirc you can also get the newer 2.1 lump, and swap the injector pump and injectors from a 1.9 onto it and toss all the electrics away

For a 1,9 swap you need use an adapter plate between the engine and tranny as the 1,9 4cyl bolt pattern is not the same as the 5 or 6cyl ones.

Mt75 and an adapter plate it is then?
Cheap readily available gearbox, easy speedo connection and you could 'spin' the engine ao as to put it 'up-right'.
