The steering wheel is just there in case of emergancies.
Never use it myself.

:lol: the good thing is that nobody would ever think of takeing the van as they wouldnt know how to drive it! :lol: i can remember a few years ago down at my local dealer they had a mint turbo auto di minibus with know steering wheel not shure how they got it in the workshop :? but it did baffle the guys thats for shure! :lol:

I hear the police use mole grips to move a vehicle when the wheel is stolen. Don't know how true it is.

Can't see any reason why they wouldn't, but why would anyone steal a steering wheel?

some scrubbers tried to nick my mk1 and trying to break the steering lock they bust the wheel clean off - was a mk2 type!!
i wasnt leaving it there so i drove it home with an adjustable on the nut!!! :lol:

Gotta say i've driven a Mk1 fiesta with molegrips for the same reason, but it was me that broke the steering wheel off trying to break the steering lock. :?

Yeah, I've just looked into this and you're right.

I'm building a 2 L Pinto powered trike with foot controlled steering, and it doesn't have to have a SVA test.

I'm building a 2 L Pinto powered trike with foot controlled steering, and it doesn't have to have a SVA test.
only if the govenment dont get their way, under the new proposals any vehicle that has any modifications that are not shown on the v5 IE trikes registered as reliants, kitcars that kept the original cars registration etc. will be flagged when they go for an MOT and will require an SVA to stay on the road. this could mean that a kit car that has been on the road for 30 years suddenly requires an SVA which it has no chance of passing, this could affect 1000's of vehicles including custom vans
