to be honest the newer merc commercail are a load of rubbish from a 7.5 tonner upto an arttic , i was driving a 05 reg merc actross which i would of gladly jumped out of to drive sumot like a old renualt

That's surprising, I reckon the new actros is a pretty good motor. for some reason the firm I work for has a fleet of scania 4 and R series, I find these a load of C*ap. personally I reckon everyone (except renault)makes a better truck than scania.

 i drive a new axor 430 at the moement and most of our fleet are now renaults and i have to say the merc is great truck, the renault is the biggest pile of poo i have ever worked with! :( we had a man fleet and they were very good trucks and i cant falt them ,and now somehow renault has got there way in! the axor is only on short term lease and i must say i am not looking forward to the day it goese back and i end up with a preimiem or what ever they call the french crap!
imo the best truck was the 3 series 143 scania! there just something about that V8 that doese it for me! :)

if i could afford it i would :!: i have looked everywhere and for a decent motor your looking at £1500 :( then there is a lot of work wiring it all up etc. and wiring isnt my speciality   have blown nearly every fuse in the van just wiring up some marker lights  then the 1st starter i fitted i connected it the wrong way   resulted in a lot battery acid everywhere

for the mo i will be keeping the 2.5 because i have heard you can get them chipped so i am going to get the motor sorted them have that done and see what its like then also i think the main problem with power loss in van is pump or ecu :?

you saying ren***lts are crap i agree with you all but one the new re***lt mascott basically a 6.5t master its got a 3.0 td with 160bhp i think it is very similar to the iveco engine it is 1000 times better than the master and its rwd problem is they dont seem to like selling them over here you dont see very many of them..
