have you actually tried the 5 stud hubs with the 15" discs and calipers yet still dont know 100% that it'll fit

why is the mk5 5stud hubs disks 15 inch? i know the wheels was 14 inch

i will have to make some arch flares for the front and rear screw on ones

dave was on about this the other day could i just undo the big hub nut and put the 5 stud one on but change the 14 inch disk to the 15 inch disk to the 5 stud as i think its still a 5 bolts job on the back for the disk to go on and keep the 15 inch caliper and carryer on

but dono about the hub bearins being same tho

keep the 15" discs and calipers - fit the 5 stud hub (rotating part) with all the bearings from it to the stud axle

like i say never tried it but i think it will all work - if you want wait untill after the northern meet and i should have some 15" calipers - i'm gonna try them on my van and i'll let everyone know if it works

now for the rear does the brake shoes and brake cyls fit from the 6 stud fit the 5 stud axel if so will the new hand brake cable i put on fit the 5 stud as well if so i will swap the new parts over from the 6 stud axel to the 5 stud axel


and to fit the 5 stud axel i was thinking of undoing the u bolts on the springs and keep the 190 springs and just bolt the 5 stud axel stright on with the shocks still on the 190 chassis and the shocks will go back in at the bottom where the shock bushers bolts go on and then connect the prop back up job done

oh and keep the brake pipes on just undo from the brake cylsd and leave the brake pipe hanging there fron the load componsater as i will use the one on the van as dave said if i use the 120 one of the blue van it might fook things up as in if i keep the load valve on the 190 and springs should be ok its basicly just the drive train wait iam changeing as iam a snob and want alloys

you dont need to touch the btm ball joint
you'll need to take the carrier off as thats whats different with the 5 and 6 stud calipers and minormatt is right

i got the prop from the swb full prop shaft could i just change the back bit ie the bit that bends at the uj

no not really it'd be nice if they wernt i was looking at the fire van for fitting the 5 stud axle and it looked different - there is more than 1 flange for the 5 stud axles - so mabe it can be done than way

best thing is rob - just do it and let us know

with gold bolts and stainless rims took me 40hrs to refurb them.(for the mrs mk1 golf cabrio 16v project)
