its not the risk of them going down luke, its the risk of them popping off the rim :!: under hard cornering. a tubeless tyre wont leave the rim even when its shredded, so long as the bead wire stays intact and it dosent disintigrate - i had a blow out on the front at 70mph a few weeks back, its torn bead to bead, but didnt leave the rim so i still had enough control to cross three lanes and bring it to a stop, i still need a bead breaker to remove it, i cant get it off with tyre levers, tried that. but an under pressure tubeless tyre on a tubed rim would deflate and leave the rim suddenly if pushed

right im deffo selling these, ive found out that the standard defender steeles that look identical apart from the width being 5.5" not 6.5" are available in tubeless, and the backset of the wheel is the same as the ones ive got, so it will just be a case of getting the fronts banded as well as the rears. not sure on the weight but they are thinner steel so will be lighter...

i gave £100 for them so i'd be looking to get that back. not a lot as these retail for over £200 each

disco ones wont do as im after something looking near to the original transit shape, so only series or defender ones will do.

like i said earlier i always knew these might not be suitable and i'd be selling them on, but it was worth a punt as its proved a few things about it will work, and was actually the cheapest & easiest route to understanding the things i needed to establish....

The wheels you have work fine tubeless..

I've had them 6 years on a Landrover.

They can be bought for £40 each, with good tyres

from Vass....An Ex Mil dealer in Bedfordshire.

Series and Defender Wheels are also "Tube-Type"

They can also run Tubeless.

The only Landrover rim that is made in "Tubeless" or "Tube-Type" is

the Wolf wheel and......You won't believe the weight of them
