also they use the mt75 on the 2.9 ambys and they have a lot more weight which is a major contributing factor in the life of the box :D

all im saying is it make the conversion more difficult doing it all at once - using an mt75 makes it a whole lot easier - if he gets a 2wd cossy he will have a spare T5 to fit :D

Ok so various MT75 boxes exist but they are all called MT75 so they must share some components! :roll:
Could the two types not be combined to make a box that fits the transit but lasts like a sierra?

MT75 stands for Manual Transmission 75mm, 75mm is the distance between the gearshafts inside the box.

The Borg Warner T5 cosworth box is based on the MT75 which is why the internals of the T5 fit inside the MT75 casing.

:lol: this needs looking into, i will reaserch :lol: - if i can fit stronger internals into my transit box then i'd rather do that than change the box over to something else :idea:

ok guys thanks for all that info on the box looks like i will go with the mt75 box for know,,

but as i say my biggest worry is the loom for the cossie engine still looking hard for info on that some where on the web ,,but nothing as yet?? :cry:

try http://www.ford-power.co.uk for help with the loom they are mainly a 24v cossy bunch but might be able to help :D

cheers luke but i have just found a guy in dagenham essex that can do it for me said it is easy to patch in and will only take a day if all goes well..

so on the look out for a mk 4 transit petrol if anyone knows of one for sale please could you let me know cheers as im struggling to find one at the moment i looked on ebay,autotrader ect ect thanks again ppl

I'm pretty sure you'd better off with a Mk5 and I think the gearbox will still fit.

mk5 dont get you the engine mounts or the clutch tho :(

Get's you the tank and fuel pump though. It's all swings and round abouts.
