Well not quite :!:
Time for the "eDead" Techlite foamy stuff sound absorber to go in too :!:

Phew :!:  Not at all an easy job, what with such an extraordinarily shaped bulkhead :!:

Now for the new original Ford pad to go on top and keep the van looking 8) 8) 8)

And the refit is complete, with most parts cleaned of all the dust/dirt :!:

That antifreeze needs to be red/orange :x This week sometime :!:

Fantastic job youve done there... So how is it, can you hear that pin drop, no seriously! Was it worth all that effort?

Thank you for your comments :!: :D

Rain has (as usual) stopped play :!: :(

You can't hear that pin drop yet :!:

Next is the doors and front wheel arches :!:

I have mentioned before now, that there was a peculiarity when the window/s are down on a MK5, the engine/interior noise seemed to be more acceptable :? :? :?

I suspect that the doors will make a really big difference :!: :!:

The clue is if you sit in the cab with the engine off, make a fist, and with the side of your hand, whack the door (closing) handle :!: :o The amount of drumming is quite

N/S wing done :!:
Delay with the drivers side as I was hoping to tie it in with a new Ford sound mat  (no longer available  ) But will deal with that and around the servo unit asap

The bonnet seems to have it's own Ford mat :!: :D
If I have any spare lagging/mat, I will remove the Ford item and fill in behind it :!: :D

The end bearing can get dry from the heat :o and starts squeaking , just needs a drop of oil applied :)

Oh well  If it ever needs doing, I will be remembering your words :!:  ( and wishing that you told me sooner)

Ok, driver's side bulkhead now done with O/S front wing :!:
N/S front wheel arch and door done :!:

(cooling system flushed right through and red anti freeze fitted, (looks much better/back to normal))

Pictures to follow..............

While working on the drivers side, under the bonnet, that antifreeze was getting on my nerves
Image

So a good flush and fresh antifreeze sorted that out :!: :D
Battery tray and battery in place, and the drivers wing also padded out :!:
Image

Now for those inner arches that have been waiting too long :!:
N/S
A good clean first :!:
Image

Dynamat xtreme :!:
Image

Followed by eDead's Teklite :!:

O/S
Image

Image

Image

not forgetting the plastic (ex Mk3/4) speaker panel :!:
Image

Mmmmmmm :? that needs a clean :!:
Image

 The "dirt wash" bike cleaner I purchased from "BIKEWISE" in Ickenham is ideal for these sorts of jobs :!: :D :D
Image

Image

And after :?:

Now, onto the doors :!:

The empty space inside these doors, can only amplify any noise :!:
Image

So the inside of the outer panel was first cleaned before the Dynamat xtreme was applied.
Then the bottom of the inner panel was taken care of, followed by waxoyl in the bottom and edges of the door :!:
Image

This was then followed by 2 further sheets, cut to size and stuck over the whole of the door, immediately behind, where the door card covers :!: :D
Image

And Darren to the rescue helping roll out any air bubbles :!:
Image
Cheers matey :!:
