Truly awesome stuff, admire your work there.

Gratefully my MK4 tranny will not be getting this treatment, firstly caus I am putting her up for sale and secondly caus she is quite, quite in the extreme. The mechanics at the garage I work from say it isn't normal...? I have been under my bonnet and apart from the fire foam stuff on the hood I have none of that black foamy sound proof stuff either. The mechanics at the garage reckon my engine should be noisier and want to have a piss around with it, but she will do 90, quitely (ok you may need to pop the stereo up to 10, which aint loud) so why mess with perfection! It would seem that the Dagenham shift were having a good day when they put mine together.

Oh, she is a 2.5di and quite.

Good stuff though, although may have cheaper to keep ringing the pimp my ride number than buying your soundproof stuff :)

Buzzing around town today, I have to say that it's like a different van :!:

It's sooooooooo pleasant not to have the stereo up high to drown the noise :!: :D

As I said, I will report as to what has made the biggest difference and what may have not been...... let's say, not so worth while :?:
So that anyone else proposing a similar project, can learn from my experience :!: :D

Firstly, forget removing the dashboard to do the bulkhead/fire wall on the inside :!:
That's right, it didn't make that much difference and certainly not justified :!: :!: :!:

The floor, inner arches and doors, a big yes and in the engine compartment a big yes :!: :!:

Oh, nearly forgot :!: Can't hear the rain over the cab area either :!: 8)
So anotherbig yes for the ceiling :!:

Would I do it again :?:
Definitely :!: :!: (leaving out the dash removal part :!: :D

Bulkhead (cargo partition) next :!:
