id stick with white and just make it mint 135 then you can fit the 135 axle 3.63! i think it was available in drw as well ? i would have thought you can just chuck one wheel on as two wheels just mate up to each other anyway, just for mobility i wouldnt drive it like that i think its only me and you that like 135's you said the van was originally together and working? only reason i ask that is because where that weld mark or whatever it is? just behind it the grey oxide is where they sit on the skids in the plant and as they go through the paint shop that bit doesnt get painted! so once its been through the trim lines still on skids they tranfer to a cradle to go on the merry go round (engine assembly line) once the running gear is fitted they come down a bit lower other underside bits are fitted inc the spare wheel which is also where the guy on that station paints with a brush the oxide for the un painted parts! now on that station there was one guy but two shifts! one old dude who just dabbed it on not giving a monkeys and the other guy was a younger caring type of bloke who got told off frequently for slapping loads on i didnt want them to rust anyway know ive bored you on that the main reason i asked is because some of the first shells were used as mock ups to re fab the old skids to fit the new model that would explain the burn type looking thing! i did thing about a rogue robot but it wouldnt have been painted!

This van flew for a 90ps, rerally impressed by it.

Am currently swapping all the bits onto the tipper now as its just going to sit there forever if i dont do something, if i get the time,money,space and other cheap bare one again, then i'll do it good to keep, hopefully by then it get a 200ps engine aswell.

so hopefully will be able to build at least the front end up, front seats dash doors, .......

You can get better diffs than that, my 115 6 speed has a 3.73

the 3.73 would be a flyer, no good for a tipper though

can anyone recommend a good way to cut a screen out of a van to fit in to this tipper.
would cut it like i did with the smashed one but guaranteed i'll crack it.


also what bit is different on the prop to change length, is it just end bit that fits to diff?
as I've only got a SWB prob, but this Tipper is MWB or LWB (not sure).

The difference in length from SWB prop to my tipper prop is 1030mm so will their just be another section 1m long needed

this is doing my head in now, keep looking underneath, and thinking its a shame not to preserve and maybe keep this for a long time, theres not one bit of rust underneath, or any of the chassis,
looking at my mates 05 its rotten.

if i put it together all standard would prob make £2,500, £3,000 profit, selling at £5,000.

but where would i buy a mint one for £2,000, £2,500 what i'd have in it
and even if i did change colour, and fully protect the lot, it would be even better.....

just got an engine and gearbox of ebay,just had alt and starter missing for £500, ,
no one bid on it, he listed it badly.

the timing cover wasnt stuck on, timing was out( only crank 180 degrees out though) , looks like heads defo been replaced the newer vp30 pump was fitted, compression ok, the tensioner blade was worn right through the metal
so my guess is the timing has jumped wrecked cam carrier, had full head replaced, but not timed up right, so they just fitted another engine

BTW anyone thinking you can cut the back off a panel van and turn into chassis cab,(like me )
RWD or FWD its not possible, the chassis cab is totally different, starting from the front of the engine bed all the way back.

8 months gone and still collecting dust.

Does anyone know if the Mk6 could be 430 and 460, and how much rear axle weight they have

Not decided if im going to just turn this into a nice recovery, or just sell it as a bare chassis cab complete, then buy a mk7 chassis crew cab to make into a nice recovery.

Either way Mk6, or mK7 will make a recovery, and upgrade to a 460.

Had a few thoughts on the build, but can decide to keep the bed flat or raise it at the front. If its raised, apart from higher centre of gravity, would more weight be transfered over the rear axle, because of the angle. And a flat bed transfer a lot less to rear axle.

I also want to make the full bed out of aluminium.

I did a quick measure of mine and looks like i need 1m extension to get a 5m bed overall.

but is there any limit length wise you can take the chassis?
