banded steels on a transit anyone?

Heres my mock-up, about 1", but I might go to 2" once I spend some time measuring up

what i did with mine to get a good idea of the width was bolt some bits of 40mm box (just an off cut) to the hub face and then with a couple of old studs bolt the wheel on to that - it gives an exact width - obviously you can drive it but you can put the weight on and see how the tyre sits as it's tricky to measure it exactly

this was when i was doing the axle but you could do it with 50mm and if it fits then band them 50mm .......... or more

and anyone who doesnt think banded wheels are cool is just not gettin it
