well folks i got my rims back and i fookin love em!! 8)

made a start on cleaning them for painting this eve, they also need a light skim of filler on the outside joint to smooth it in and leave the joints invisible when painted.

of course i had to try a couple on to see how they looked!! :D cant wait to get em painted and tyres on!!

looking at the tyres it looks like the standard ones ill not stretch too nicely and more importantly might not be safe. id be thinking something like a 205,60 id look the bizz. wonder can this size be got in a commercial tyre? from driving the van id say id get away with a slightly lower profile than standard thanks to the 4.1 and i reckon they id look well cool!!

You can get 205/70x14c Tyres as fitted to Mk5 Tourneo's

205/60x14's will be car tyres

Not a problem for the MOT but, check the load rating of them 8)

went sussing out tyres today, i tried a pair of 205,70,s on the rear rims, brought them home to try on the van and i dont think they look right.......too much of a balloon tyre effect i think!! :D 205,60,s are the way forward me thinks!!

i do love the look of the rims though, coolest thing is i can see the dish of the back wheel when i look in the drivers mirror!! 8)

personally i think they look ok (the balloon tyre - the wheels are more than ok  ) you could mabe drop a bit on the profile but too small they look like rollerskates  i'm gonna fit bigger profile on mine nest time round :D

just wondering how wide you can go, staying within the original arch profile, and would you want to go that wide? say you could squeeze a 9" rim on the rear, you'd be looking at 295's. wouldnt think theres any performance benefit in that on a transit! plus i'd imagine they'd cost £££'s.

ya, i got a look at 205,60,s today and didnt even try them on, very very low, van would be screaming in 5th id say!!

think ive found a nice compromise though.....195,70,14 bout an inch and a bit lower than the balloon tyre and an inch and a bit higher than the 205,60. got a pair fitted on the front rims, put them on the van and they look perfect in my opinion.forgot to take pics. it looks like two more ill comfortably stretch the extra half inch for the back as well. had to order two matching ones, should have them on tuesday. 8)
