Right I think just think I might of found out why the starter wont work, the granada cosworth starter is 1.4 kvw but has 9 teeth
The transit pinto starter has 0.9 kvw and 10 teeth
Escort cosworth starter has 1.4kvw and 10 teeth :)

are you still using the oil cooler :?: if not you can mount the filter direct to the block or get a relocation kit to have the oil filter in a different place :D

Hmm I didnt of that!
Another thing was having problem with the starter I thought it wasnt strong enough to turn the engine but when I fitted my new high torque starter that was the same until I pressed the cluch and its fine then, what do you think the problem is with cluch? What can do 2 fix it?

for the wiring go to http://www.fordpower.org.uk/forum2/ there is loads of 24v info on there :D

as for the clutch - odd one :? :!: sounds like the box is siezed but i guess that cant be it as you'll have used it before :?: also if you turn the input shaft when its in newtral does it turn ok and not turn the output shaft :?: i assume it does so in the installation you've got i'd be looking at mabe the alignment of the input shaft or something like that :? have you got any pics of it all :?:

What if I jack up the rear and turned the prop to see if it turns freely? As for the gearbox being seized, it could be possible as I havent used this box before as it was my spare one! It has been sat in my shed for bout a 8 months. Uu

ok - jack the rear and with the van in neutral turn it over if the wheels turn then look further at the box might be the problem :(
