Gavin wrote:just wondering how wide you can go, staying within the original arch profile, and would you want to go that wide? say you could squeeze a 9" rim on the rear, you'd be looking at 295's. wouldnt think theres any performance benefit in that on a transit! plus i'd imagine they'd cost £££'s.

well considering the std rims are 5.5 inches wide, my fronts are now 7 inch and rears are 7.5. the rear axle is well over an inch narrower each side than the front by my calculations. i was toying with the idea of goin to 8 inch on the back when i was ordering them but decided to play it safe, would have loads of room in the arch but as i found tyre choice is somewhat limited in 14"

you probably could squeeze 9 inch rims on the back but id say you id end up stretching a narrower tyre a lot to clear the arch which may not look the best.

im over the moon with the way mine turned out, i like the way they fill out the van but also look subtle.

That looks mustard :D It's sealed the deal for me too, just wish I had a mk2 to hang them on. I've been toying with the idea of banding mine, just gotta check funds then shall run um over to James.

Heard nothing but good on RR about JamesP's banding and I know he has done stock car rims too (seen a pic of a dented one with no weld/band affected) they are plenty strong, the man can weld. (wonder if this plug gets me a discount  )

Will need to check how far I can go on mine as don't want to obstruct the sliding door, 2 1/2 on rears and 2 on front if poss :)
