Only need the input shaft, this is the main shaft. This project is costing a fortune already  parts, 3 weeks off work

This picture also shows the input shaft protruding and the splines level with the front face of the gearbox, which would be correct:

Mine is set back:

The only Transit in Clifton grade is the tipper, its a 2.5 diesel with MT75 gearbox, but they are attached to each other and the van has its front wheel hub sat on 3 wheels .. that's all that's keeping it in the air.... bit wobbly when I was removing the prop mount, would be well scary dropping the gearbox out

PM'd you my findings from your info mate.

Package in the post!

I do think that I gave you the wrong clutch cover, another I tried here this morning seems to have fingers raised more than the dims you have taken.

Your flywheel does appear the same as one I have here, using it to do a 'dry run', the clutch splines are ok, the center plate hardly moves during dissengagement.

Moving the 'ball' pivot for the release arm forward will do the job and move the cable end of the clutch arm backwards away from the bell housing, the clutch arms without the cast 'lump' do give more movement as they are not as bulky at the cable end. I am sure this is the type we had on Robbies.

We will get to the bottom of this mate,

My clutch arm was standard late di type with the big weight on the end(which ended up needing welding in place!)

Yes, Think that`s the one I got as well, big chunky black bit on the end of the arm that the cable fits into.

Well a day of measuring, thinking, phoning, thinking, measuring again :? Engine still not in:
My input shaft and clutch release bearing issues:

Clutch release bearing in its further backwards position (release arm at clutch cable end hitting back of gearbox cut-out):

Image

and at its furthest forward position (release arm at clutch cable end hitting front of gearbox cut out):

So near, yet so far
