Postby Screaminkiwi » Tue Dec 12, 2006 12:43 am

JUST INTERESTED TO KNOW IF ANY OF YOU HAVE A 2.0 PETROL VAN WITH FACTORY FITTED LPG SYSTEM?? £25 OF GAS GETS ME UP TO 300 MILES...WHEN I CAN GET THE GAS IN THAT IS !! SOOO TEMPERAMENTAL, AND I KNOW FORD HAD TO RECALL A LOAD OF THEM FOR THIS REASON, BUT I,D BE INTERESTED TO HEAR FROM OTHER LPG PEEPS.CHEERS

Yup, I got one! Mines a 99 lwb 190 so I get 16ish to the gallon and about 180 miles on a tank.
Only times i had trouble filling, its been down to the pump. Do you have the autogas map?

I,ve just bought a CD rom which i need to download onto my TOM TOM, but the only other map ive got is the shell one which is a bit limited.Funny you should say that about the pump, i had it filled at an LPG specialist in yorkshire. The pump must have been the most powerful one there was, and ever since then havent had a problem filling ! Maybe it blew out something that was blocking the system?...But yep..I got gas..and proud of it !! Looking at printing an " I,ve got gas" sticker for the back..maybe use Bart simpson with his pants down ! Which map do you mean?

It lists EVERY filling and Fixing station in the country.

how do lpg vans deal with hills when fully laden?

We often have to do some very long steep hills, and with a fully laden vehicle so just wondering if it will cope or not?

LPG or petrol is the same pretty well, if anything lpg is better.
Irun my 190 on it, and laden (or a little bit over) some lomg banks slow me down....at least with the twin cam you can drop two gears and wind it up! A diesel will catch up on the hills. but at 40p a litre I can live with that!
Plus I just had an exhaust fitted without a cat, and passed the mot.

So in comparrison to a diesel on the hills?

The van really chugs up some;)

Just trying to work out if its a viable option for the next van, we will need to change vans next year... The millage is a bit high now on this, especially with our load;)

They now fit (or did- I have no idea if it's still available) a 2.3 motor...should resolve the problem. Bear in mine that mine is a '99 190 with a car deck and I often carry fairly substantial motors.
The truck wieghs 2060kg empty.
