Focus ST 18" Alloy Wheels on MK6 Transit

Postby Lydian » Wed Jul 25, 2012 8:49 pm

Hi All,

This is my first post! Apologies if I've missed a topic about this already, it's just that there's so many topics!

Ok so I've just got myself a 2004 Mk6, T280. It's very tidy. I plan to use it for my band, but also for impromptu camping trips! So I want to make it look a bit more spangly than standard!

So to my first (probably of many...I'm a mechanical newbie!) question!

I have a friend who has got a set of 18" alloy wheels from a 2007 Focus ST, he says he'll sell me them for £60! So do these go on a MK6 Transit and if so, is there anything I near to keep in mind and do other than lobbing them on?

Thank you in advance for any advice or help offered!

Cheers Guys and Gals!

In short, the studs won't fit, and they probably aren't weight rated for a commercial vehicle :(

£60 for ST Alloys    Are they <Ahem> legit :?:

Ah right! OK cool, thanks for the advice! What is PCD out of interest?

Yep the wheels are legit, it's a friend of mine who's got some new shieny ones on his. They need tyres and one of them needs a refurb...

Thanks for the heads up chaps!

Hi Lydian
PCD is Pitch Circle Diameter, basically usng the centre of the hub as a centre the mounting studs are a different radii, for different vehicles. Fitting non standard wheels to a Transit is a minefield. Pretty up what you have.
Have fun

Hi Terry,

Ah right, I see! Thanks for the info, makes sense! I'll keep hinting around for some proper transit wheels I think!

Cheers! 8)

I'd still buy them Focus ST alloys for that price  Then sell them on to the Connect lads as they fit Connects 8) There are more aftermarket alloys becoming available for your full fat Transit, have a search on eBay but you will have to trawl through the adverts as connect ones will be listed aswell which are different :D
