I forgot to mention i fitted the transit outer races to the jag hub
as the diameter was exactly the same for both bearings.
have forgotten the grease seal will deal with that asap.
Also fitted longer wheel studs as used on xj8s,
as alloy wheels are thicker of course.
Hope you like the colour sceme for the calipers.

Hi Transit lovers
I'm back with some more news.
after looking at lots of cars in the local breakers i
could not find any flexible hoses suitable for my
convertion.
so decided to use the jag ones & change the metal
or should i say cunifer brake pipes to complete the
hydraulic circuit.
The grease seals have been elusive till i spoke to
a friend of mine,
apparently there is a firm in handcross on the a 23
London to Brighton road who will make one to fit
anything if you have the measurements.
At a very reasonable price,
I was expecting my Beautiful Revolution wheels today
but alas they did not arrive.
Have started to make the new pipes to fit the new
flexible hoses.
Have bought new brake pads & wheel bearings &
of course the new hoses,
Will phone and order the grease seals tommorrow.
will order tyres as soon as wheels arrive.
Can't wait to drive her again but with new addititions.
Will take her to Newlands corner for a coffee on saturday
morning and maybe a hamburger.
"I'm so exited"
They don't open till 9 o clock
look forward to meeting some of you soon.

Hi Transit lovers
Eureka my discs have arrived today but unfortunatly
my weekend is fully booked with a trip to
Sammy Miller's Museum near the New Forest
on saturday & out with the wife on sunday.
Hopefully if i am not to busy this week i will
find time to start putting the hub assembly
together.
Alas the wheels have still not arrived,
But i still have lots to play with.
will post more when time allows.

Got back early sunday, could not wait another minute longer
to bolt the modified disc to the jag hub.
Fitted the hub back on to the Transit stub axle temparary
& fitted the caliper & brake pads.
What a thrill,
I then fitted the brake pads, need slight modification
but the disc spun absolutly true i did not need to space out
the caliper at all.
Latest picture on photobucket.
I really can't believe how easy it has been so far, can't wait
for my Revolution wheels so i can fit the brake hoses & make
sure they don't foul on the wheels when on lock.
will keep you all updated,

Redhill Bearings? There pretty good. They can get things made that they can't get off the shelf.

Prehaps get more than 1 set?

Hi Transit Lovers
My Revolution wheels arrived Wednesday the tyres arrived
thursday & i fitted the front flexible hoses & made up new
coonifer bundy pipes on friday.
Got back from visiting friends & shopping about four o'clock
saturday afternoon got streight into finishing the hydraulic
system & got the wife to help bleed them.
The pedal feels good but it's getting dark & cold i think i
deserve a cold beer don't you after all my hard work.
I forgot to mention i had to remove the power steering pump
to replace the offside brake pipe & hose,
Will possible fit it back when i return from the car boot sale
on sunday.
The other thing i forgot to mention is the front wheels are so
big in comparison to the tiddly little infinitesimal Transit one's
185x14 possibly on 5inch wide rims the new ones 225x70x15
on 8inch revolution wheels look Magnificent but seem to stick
out to much may have to flare the front arches,
See what you think i will post pics on photo buckett tomorrow
after fitting pump & putting it back on it's paws.
can't wait to try this convertion keeping my fingers & everything
else crossed look forward to meeting some of you at Newlands
corner next saturday.
I want to try to get the feel on her as i have only done about a
thousand miles in her since i started the first the convertion.
Also i forgot we have ordered a curry & it has just arrived
back soon.

I'm not cold now my head is sweating so much i
need a hair dryer to dry my hair but it's better
than being cold needless to say the curry was
wicked,
I now need more beer to cool me down,
Any excuse in better than no excuse.
back to the Transit the most important issue
So far it's taken me about sixteen years overall
but take out all the holdups & disasters possible
ten years of my very limited spare time,
As a project it is always an ongoing thing as
things change all the time like i want to change
the rear lights again as one has packed up &
since i fitted them about five years ago they
have improved on them they look so much
better now.
As i have not driven her long enought to get the
feel of her the camper that is?
I need to get her out as many times as possible
so you will be seeing us both more often towards
the south of England & espcially west sussex.
I can't wait to try out the new brakes wheels &
tyres & my line locker.
I must stress it is a rolling project now because
it has only just started to roll properly but so far
"Beautifully."
As winter is nearing i want to take her out in the
dark & try all the lights individually at the front,
Quadoptic headlight reflectors with h.i.d. bulbs
better known as zenon, plus auxilary headlights
with quarts halogen bulbs both high & low beam
on at the same time but specificly adjusted
lower than normal & last but not least eight under
bumper fog lights all these lights are on their own
individual circuits so if in trouble in the dark at
least one set should keep you out of trouble.
If you do see me at Newlands corner it has not
got any door cards the wiring is still a bit scruffy
there is lots to tidy up please be gentle with me
yours sincerly C.E.

Hi Transit lovers, today i completed the last part
of the jigsaw puzzle that is jaguar xjs front hubs
& front calipers including volvo v70 discs to mk2
Transit front axle.
Fitted the power steering pump & bled the system
lowered it back on to it's new front tyres & revo
wheels it looks a million dollar Transit.
I hope it's worth all the effort & expence.
I moved it forward a few feet to try the pedal
pressure the front dipped as i applied the pedal
under slight pressure but of course the pads need
to be bedded in will know more saturday when i
take her for a drive,
will keep you all posted Happy Transiteering.
