its been done before but the engine was a calibra turbo one there is a pic on here somewhere have a search for the pic only reason the 16 valve engine would suffer a bit is because its not very tourquey so it might struggle with the weight of the transit

You seen the size of Transit he is thinking about doing this to?...It is the Postman Pat sized one, so I doubt weight will be that much of a problem.

(No handle as yet?)

In thet little van of yours it will be great, assuming its the 'red top' proper 16v and not the ecotec version that was in the later Calibra that is.

Just make sure you dont go for too high gearbox ratio's as the red top powerband kicks in at about 2700rpm.

I had the ecotec version in a cavalier years ago  what a piece of crap. Damn thing ate camshaft sensors for fun and constantly went into "limp home" mode  After many trips to the garage to get the codes read i ended up buying my own code reader  AVOID :!:
mk5 flareside with tail-lift GONE and will be missed!

Mk6 T350 LWB DRW dropside with tail-lift.

XE is a stonking engine i have one in my mk2 escort 8) one problem you will have is the dissy sticks out the back :( to avoid this you can fit electrnic ignition or mount the dissy on the front using manta pulleys :D

why not go zetec :?: less probs with the gearbox :D
