Just split my first headlight, genuine ford, off my van, 30 mins with a heat gun and screwdriver. Not bad.
Question is, should I use VHT paint on the bezel, and will it need undercoat?

Thanks for your help.

I think I just used mat black on mine, maybe use a wet wipe if it has finger prints etc on it.

Last headlight I split I cleaned it, scuffed it a little, used some rattle cans from Halfords to prime and just some satin black

I've bought some adhesion promoter to spray on first, then high temperature enamel paint. Currently fitting the switch backs.

Did you ever have any blistering / peeling problems?

The last set I done cracked, but that might have been when I smashed a shitty Toyota corrola 30 yards down the forth road bridge

Other than that, no probs, and I never even primed them, just sprayed them with shitty old can of mat black I found in the shed.
