Too many wires!
Help

Tailgate seems to have a grey plug for the central locking and a black plug for the rest.
When it comes to central locking I've actually no clue

Still got my Mk7 rear doors lock so if it's easier to explain which wires are for what I could follow punto and modify the lock

OK Mate here we go, grey plug definitely does locking on mine. Description added as it's difficult to get a good pic which clearly shows wire colours. you'll note there's an extra black on the lock end, which I presume is the earth :?

Pic 1 grey plug looking at plug plain side, pins down, reading from left to right

Pic 2 grey plug, t'other side with clip, pins down reading left to right

Pic 3 lock end plug, purple clip on left, pins down, reading left to right

Pic 4 lock end plug, purple clip on right, pins down, reading left to right

Hope that helps. You should be able to work out which wire goes to where from the description I think :?

I have just finished my tailgate conversion, a pal had one he had no requirement for, the wiring was the biggest problem, burnt out the original lock! Managed to rescue the job with a spot weld onto the original lock otherwise it was £150 for a new one! Fitting LED foglights over the hinge holes from fleabay, square look ok I suppose! Thanks for all the help and ideas from this forum.
