Removing TRANSIT lettering from doors on my MK7

Postby paulrichardson » Mon Jun 01, 2015 1:25 pm

Hi guys,

I know this is not exactly the most radical of customisations, but I would like to remove the TRANSIT lettering from the driver's and passenger's door of my MK7 Transit.

Does anyone know if I will find holes behind the letters, or are they just stuck on.

It would be great to know before I attempt removal.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Paul

Hi Stevo,

Is this correct for the side doors (driver/Passenger) as I don't have a Ford badge on these doors.

Paul

They are self adhesive, at least the one i bunged on my mk2 amby was, to remove i would use petrol/lighter fluid or panel wipe along with a hand coaxed peeling in order to re-use if not re-using a strimmer or axe could easily be employed.

"Transit" lettering attached to plastic trim on both mk7 front doors.

Yes there are holes behind them

Thanks Paul,

I thought there might be, we call our van Travis (long story) and I was going to get some letters to put his name on the doors, but it might not work now.

That would be great, no big rush, I haven't found suitable letters yet, got some samples off eBay, but they are too small.

Wow, that's a shed load of holes.

Many thanks for the photo, I'm glad I asked before ripping the badges off.

I don't think I'll bother now, chances of my new letters covering the holes is a bit slim.

Thanks again,

Paul
