MK7 Dash Backlight Colour Change

Has anyone ever managed to change that hideous green backlight colour for something else? In my opinion the green looks really old school, so I am thinking about white or red. Already have an idea how to replace light behind the heater /AC, but wondering about the rest (speedometer & clock, headlight) - any advice mostly welcome, many thanks!

Smd leds will do everywhere, there's posts on it somewhere. The heater is the hardest as you need to gently rub away the green paint.

I like blue.

Use a hot air station to remove the old LED's , i use a an "Atten 858D+" chinese special. The LED's have a small cutout on them , that indicates the polarity. They aren't all fitted one way. I've only done white for the dials , & red for the LCD, pleased with the results although the dimmer function doesn't work well, becomes very un-linear - May need a resistor adding to its circuit,

Yes they melt easy for sure the replacements i was given give the correct colour at a slightly different voltage than the original's but saying that maybe my dimmer pot is actually faulty

Tried red, blue, white

Even inverted the lcd so that letters lit up instead of the background, and radio display.
Just a bit fiddly
