Mk8 pickup rear lights in a mk7 pickup

Hi. I want to upgrade my back lights to mk8 ones as my tailboard was shot and I found a nice mk8 one cheap. . But I’m guessing the wiring will be different. Could anyone shed some light on this for me ? Thanks in advance

If the mk8 are not LEDs then I would say yes to wire them up I’d just find the earth and wire that up and then just turn on the lights one at a time and plug them onto the correct lamp maybe use a test lamp or just plug onto a terminal and then swap it onto the right lamp if you have picked the wrong one as long as you get the Earth right you won’t blow a fuse .
