Base model custom

Postby Basemodel » Fri Feb 05, 2021 11:14 pm

I posted in another area of the forum but thought this would be more suitable asked here

I have a 66 reg custom base model

I’m really not too keen on the styling. Has anybody ever messed about with the base models to look more like a limited or a sport?

Colour coding etc, alloys,

Would it look silly on the base model body, would I be wasting money?!

just need a rough idea of what would be needed to actually make it look a bit nicer. Thanks in advance!

Thanks mate. I’ve searched a lot on here and can’t seem to find anybody with the same question.

I just don’t like the way the base models look. The mass of black plastic everywhere.

Any other ideas for me please if possible? Just to make it a little less bland.

Do you think it would still look okay if I left the standard base model body kit?

The limited and sport models obviously have nicer body kits. But I don’t really want to go to those lengths

Also forgot to ask. What size wheels can anybody recommend for a base model? Compared to standard steelie things they come with. Would bigger alloys fill the large gap nicer?

Cheers !

Anything you do to a base model will improve the looks someone with a custom will be able to give advice on what size to go for .

64 plate 290 185bhp 18 inch rims with Goodrich grabber tyres, roof bars, front and side rails, twin side loading doors with opening glass, glass rear windows with heated wash wipe, reverse camera, cruise control.
you can make them look ok.
