MK2 TRANSIT 2.9 COSSY BOA

Postby Twostroke » Sun Apr 25, 2021 9:32 am

Hi all ,

We are building a MK2 transit with 2.9 BOA engine.

Question is would the type 9 hold or I will need mt75.

I have a guy with diesel mt75 and a adaptor plate but not sure what is the best way.

I also have Sierra V6 type 9 and was wondering if I can swap the gear selector from a transit type 9 so. It stays forward behind the bell housing?

Thanks a lot

Type 9 won't last. The type 9 in the transit is unique to it. Sane as the MT75. Gear lever can't be swapped.

Fit the adaptor plate and flywheel onto the MT75.

Hi there, as Chris21r says use the mt75. I had the same set up your on about using in my mk2 about 8 years ago. Went pretty well. Got a 15.9 at santa pod with that set up.
Best of luck with it. ;)

Ford had both boxes available and went to the trouble of making an adaptor plate for the MT75 for the standard 2.9V6 so i would think the 24v would be best with it :)
