Postby screaminkiwi69 » Thu Feb 14, 2008 10:06 pm

Hi. Havent been in site for ages since selling my 99 SWB tranny. However, just got me a 190 twin wheel ex ambulance :D and having changed a few bits, am looking to fit a pair of heated leather granada optima seats to the old girl, but the subframes are totally different..any ideas? or has anyone done it..even better..has anyone got any subframes !!?? S,nice to be back !!

Make them fit the subframes you have. Were you on here with a different name before?

Hi Mrmpuk..i used to be under just screaminkiwi..but had loads of probs logging back in due to the time lapsed since last visit. Thanks for the reply, however i,ve had a look at the exising subframes, but are too narrow to take the granada seats..particularly with all the electrical gubbins ( 3 motors etc) underneath. I guess the only way would be to have a welder alter the subframe somehow. I was just hoping that someone had already done it and had pics.Anything for an easy life eh ? ! Interested to see if anyone else on the site has gone down the ambulance route.Cheers for now. Colin

The easiest thing would be to make brakets to mount them to the subframes you have.

I did this with mine (cloth seats though), I jsut got some 1.5" angle iron and made extensions up, drilled and bolted them to the original seat bases :D

Eventually I junked them for some sports seats but the Granny seats never shifted in five years :D

when i did mine i had to make up a platform to lift it about 1.5" to clear the motor. it was just too high

I would make up a nice seat bos and chuck the rise and fall (it unbolts from the runners) then just bolt your new box onto the runners

Thanks chaps :o) Its given me something to think about..must admit they,ll make a hell of a difference to the cab..i,ll get some pics posted of the amby when i get a chance..starting to look kinda good ! just finished painting the existing wheels..being twin wheels on the back, theyve got a good deep dish..so black interiors with silver rims..same on the front..look like something off a 69 mustang :o)..watch this space..when finished, will have graphic on the side.." if carlsberg made ambulances" .......
