Lights down the side of the body

Postby Starsky72 » Thu Feb 21, 2008 1:49 pm

the row of small amber lights down the side of the van body, as on the Merc Sprinters..not sure what the "proper name is"but I am sure you will know what I mean.

I am sure I have seen a few transits with this lighting, is there a kit available or is it something people have created themselves???

Cheers

Side marker lights, they are on the jumbo as a legal requirement.

I doubt you will get a kit but they aren't hard to fit.

Just do an ebay for "led marker", plenty of choice, I was paying £3.50 each for the ones for my trailer.

Usually just a case of drilling a hole for the wires then 2 either side for the bolts, then wire them in, in parallel

good question

I assumed I would just be able to wire them into the rear light somehow, but then again I know next to nothing about electrics :)

I put some down the side of my MK6, took a afeed from the number plate light (or sidelight) wire and fitted a relay. I would recommend a seperate relay/fuse.
