Very interesting project. I am thinking about a diesel engine, ford's 2.5 is very expensive here, so I will probably look for a 2.5 iveco, bmw or mercedes 2,4. What kind of gearbox, original ford with adaptor plate or bmw? Don't forget to post photos.

yes its 78 inches, and theres only 73, so the bulkhead it to be cut out abit, the fronts being altered too for the radiator , and change of lights, this appaerently is all to be done in 3 wks, , ill be taking pictures, but it will be 30 miles away, so once every few days,

the guy that came to help me empty the van, has just lifted a forklift battery, out and up on to a step about 4 yds away, it took me and scbk, a sacktrolly and boards and rope to get it in, never seen anything like it

yeah sounds sweet . ive had a couple of cars with this engine.
an omega and a bmw.
the omega was restricted but still did 130mph without missing a beat.
i was only saying the other day it would be nice if bmw made a van
or if you had a van with a bmw diesel lump !
cant wait to see it !
If it's not broke, "Don't try to fix it!"
