Diesel engine replacement for the V4 petrol unit?

Hi all - I've just joined this list so this has probably been covered before.
I have a MkI 1978 2-litre petrol based motorhome, just like Kevin Bacon's on his website (baconsdozen). It needs some TLC, and I was wondering what upgrades there are. Also, if there's anyone out there interested in doing some restoration work on my vehicle, or would like to tackle the engine replacement, don't be shy!

A pre-1973 log book wouldn't go amiss, either.....

V4 to diesel not a problem!!! done it myself basically if you can get a full donor mk3 van it makes it alot easier!!! 5speed gearbox aswell!!!
Di's are noisy though!!!

As for what upgrades for a mk1 the list is endless how about :-independant front suspention and rack and pinion conversion???

Transitgeoff has put a duratec Di in his Mk1 thats an upgrade and a half!!

As for the log book cant help you there mate!!!
