vw polo rear bumper to go on back of a transit mk3/4/5

iam geting a vw polo rear bumper from my work place for note and might give it ago to fit my van it seems square will get a pic soon as i get it.

as a example its of one of these i think




going to cut it in half in the centre and then use some steel plate and riviet it to the in side of the bumper then put some fiber glass mating in the gap to make it flush should be differnt and to get it on the van is to drill some holes in the rear crossmember and put some thred nut metal plugs you can get and use a rivet pusher to put them in as the vw bumper has a edge after the bumper finshers so can use the both edges top and bottom to bolt it to the rear crossmember with the rear long bumper caps of the transit thats my plan anyway.

int why not get a second bumper and cut them off centre to get the extra width and join them together which leaves only one joint to smooth out which would make your life easier.
