pinto gearbox adapter plate and fly wheel

if i redrilled the pinto gearbox adapter plate to fit 24v and then had the pinto flywheel redrilled to fit same engine,would i run into any problems like reving too quick or flywheel breaking where its been redrilled.i no some one has done this already.
if in doubt flat out!

I did it and had no problems until i blew the engine up

how did you blow the engine?
