Remapping is the way forward

Postby scoobychris » Sun Dec 28, 2008 6:45 pm

Just thought is share this with you guys
I just got my MK6 2.4 76ps remapped last monday (15th) and before she was mapped she put out 72ps on the rollers.
i went back on friday, after i had done 300mile (the guy ryan said fords are one of the slowest ecu's to react to a map so to do 300miles totally flatout to get the most from it)
went back on the rollers on Friday (19th) and she ran 119ps.
Somehow dont think this was a safe map, if u have a new van this may invalidate your warrenty!
but anyway its for more powerful, before flatout was 70ish, now it will sit quite happily at 95 on the motorway (we dont have speed cameras in northern ireland, well ok we have 6 is the whole country), until you hit a hill that is!
its slightly better on fuel too i think!
according to the guy who mapped it the standerd 120ps has a pw40 fuel pump, my 76ps has a pw30.
he said if i could source a pw40 he could push it up to 140 something ps, but hes reluctand to go above 150ps, he says you could start in to a world of problems if it went wrong?
has anyone else had there van mapped?
i would be interested to hear how you have got on!

yep old news

The VP30 and VP44 swap will need the ECU programm to suit, and as yours was 75ps non intercooled i would fit an intercooler off a 90ps aswell

all remaps invalidate the warranty

I had my 90ps done and its a flier now 8)
