Quick question re floor removal

Postby rob.b.666 » Wed Dec 31, 2008 7:38 pm

Am currently stripping out the rear of my Mk5 LWB. Next task is to take the loadspace floor up, to clean and waxoil underneath etc.

One question, what holds it in place ? Can't see any fixings around the perimeter (was getting a bit dark by then though !), but don't want to go forcing it, if there's something simple I'm missing !

Any advice welcomed.

Cheers.

it's not factory thats why - all ply lining was done after the van left the factory :D

it's usually fitted by self tappers but quite often over the years the heads get covered in crap and worn into the ply they are hard to see :)

Got the floor up. Only half a dozen phillips headed screws in the end, all of which came out, without rounding off !!!

Floor is remarkably clean underneath. Toying with flipping floor over now, with a couple of new cut outs and re-laying, as it's like new on the other side !

Hi Rob,

I got a large "off cut" roll for my camper conversion at my local Carpet Right store. A good heard wearing carpet for less than £30 !!

Most carpet shops will sell off cuts large enough for van and you might get some very good deals with the sales on!!??
