Postby fatboy45 » Sun Apr 11, 2010 11:42 am

i was sitting looking at an old custom car magazine the other night, and it showed the seven valley swb smiley fronted cosworth transit, it was for sale years ago for 30k,, but i havent seen it since then or dose some one have it who is a member of the forum, i did see it in the flesh once, and it looked good but no good for work,,, even if you where mad enough to use it for that, i know the side door didnt open at the time because of the wide wheel arches, any one know what happened to it, rgds mike

severn valley motorsport were a tuning company in the 90's specialising in tuning cossies and escort turbo's,they built a transit as a promotion tool cossie powered, monster wheels, big brakes an all that
had a quick google for a pic but could'nt find one :(

Used to go racing with a guy Steve Hurst, had a turbo'd cossie'd SWB,low roof Mk 5 Transit for trailering his Sierra (Thunder saloon ? Cossie with twin turbos's I seem to remember).
That was converted by Severn Valley Motorsport. Their place in Ironbridge was an absolute b*st*rd to trailer stuff to, you had to go down the High St,(steep down & fairly tight with trailer) turn round in a car park at the bottom, then come back up the hill, then roll/reverse in (all the while missing the tourists) on to their forecourt , which was JUST big enough for a transit & trailer.
I got a little black book with me poems in

i know they used to have this transit on their business cards as i have one stuck on my tool box, the van used to have nitrous on it, and if im wright they did build it for a van race series, my grand parents used to live near brand hatch, and when i went down to stay with them, we used to go to brands' and i remember seeing earlier shaped transits race there, mike

ive got that mag, and performance car one, i must come clean and say i fell in love with this van, and wanted to buy it, as i said it was 30 large at the time, and i know it had a lot of one off stuff, but was way over priced for what it was, when you had a real close look round it, any body who has built a special, bike van or car never gets there money back, and thats what they wanted materials and all there labour, mike
