well i'm not really fussed over the handling of mine - i'd rather a nice smooth relaxed drive, i'd be too worried fitting those and causing vibrations through the van :?

same thing with my engine mounts i dont want to ruin the smoothness :(

Thanks Luke
I have not moved mine back so is the only difference the 165mm measurment?
If so I will substract the 1.3/4 inch (43mm) you moved it back by to leave me with my location....Is this right?

I'm IFS'ing the front of my German mk1 while I'm carrying out my engine swap, I've lined up my IFS unit tonight ready for fabricating the mounts and have noticed that the hubs stick out past the wheel arches, is this normal and are there narrower hubs that will fit to bring them more inside the arch?

I'm using a IFS unit from a 6 stud 190 mk5.

If I can I will try and post some pictures but I have been having trouble trying to post pictures on here lately.

i'm not sure with the 6 stud but the 5 stud mk4/5 are wider as well, i think the mk3 is wider than the mk1/2 but a bit less than the mk4/5

post some pics up i'm very interested 8)

Here you go Luke if they come out.

By the way, do you know if the mk3 hubs would directly fit if they are slightly narrower than the mk5 hubs?

P.s I know that my mk1 bump stops are in place still and have to be removed so the ifs unit can go up more closely to the chassis, i just wanted to get an idea of fit for the moment. :)

I tried a wheel on tonight and it doesn't look as bad, it actually fills the arch out quite nicely. 8) The whole unit does need moving back a bit to centralize the wheel better in the arch.

I'll try an post a pic of the wheel on it later if I can get my my lad off the computer!
