When I changed to diesel, I left the petrol loom in, just adapted where necessary, Im glad I did now, as Im changing to a V6 and everything is there ready to go... :D

only thing is the reason i changed to the diesel loom is because the petrol loom had been buctured in the engine bay. so is it possible to use the diesel loom when i fit the 2.9 efi? :?: :?:

cheers.

I doubt it, the electrics for a petrol engine are a lot different to a diesel engine

Hardly any difference, they both have the same basics, starter, senders etc. ignition power from coil, even went to fuel solenoid, its only wires after all, "simples" :D
If it was that hard no one would ever convert  you should know, playing with that Cossy
The only thing I would like to do, is find a petrol auto loom for my van, but I'll get around it

Alan, diesels don't have coil packs, EDIS modules and maf sensors like the Cossy so the wiring will be a bit different

there's a fair bit more wiring on a 2.9v6 over a 2.8v6 :) i prefer to have the engine loom completely seperate to the van loom :D

this was my 2.9v6 24v loom :D

No, sorry, what Im trying to say is petrol to diesel is easy not the other way round... I still had my coil in the engine bay until last year after 5 years... The only problem with the efi is the ecu and sensors. the 2.8i is dead easy, just 2 relays and 3 mechanical sensors, no fancy electronics, thats why I would like a auto petrol loom to merge the capri loom in, while sitting watching the tele, then swap it over on the day.
the newer the lump the more crap is attatched
Im sure someone had some efi bits in the for sale section a while back
